My Florida Shower

Mom and Kara were sneaking around a couple of months ago... going on secret shopping trips for my shower... not for the gifts but for theme related goods. It didn't take too long to spoil what they wanted to be a surprise and get me in on all the fun buying going on. The girls planned the most darling and beautiful dream-come-true of a shower for me. A real tea party with all one of a kind antique tea cups and pots. By the end of the collecting of goods we had hit up every antique store within 100 miles of our house and, thanks to a quick trip to Utah during all the shenanigans, the Salt Lake area. The best part of this all is that as soon as Dad got on board with this... he did most of the finding.

These picture really don't do the set up justice.

This was our littlest attendee.. Isabel Quigley.

Vanessa in her best!

Kara couldn't get her hands on that food fast enough.

The mother of all living.

Some people didn't take the invitation seriously when we said "no hats, no service"

Emily and Kara gave out prizes for Best Hat, Best Dressed and Most Casual. Mrs best dressed is in the pink on the left.... Eva was a dream in her 80's Prom dress.

We got tons of gifts.... I wish I had a full belly shot for you folks.

The place was cleaned up by the time we were done opening presents... although Dad's helper was a little grumpy. He's still so cute with such a face on him.It was so fun to do the shopping for the tea sets, the food was out of this world... and of course the dress up part. It was a success... a full house.

September 3, 2005

A little late... John and I tried our darnedest to get celebrating our 2nd anniversary last weekend. We talked about hopping a Jet Blue flight to Puerto Rico... or copying Kara and Sam's anniversary trip to Longboat Key. After deciding that I didn't want to give birth to a duel citizenship baby we decided to celebrate our 2nd year here in Melbourne Florida. There was much talk about taking the 3 and a half hour drive to the Gulf Coast to enjoy the white sanded beaches... we actually were packed and loaded in the car when... No kidding... we live across the street from the beach. Why on earth would we drive 3 hours and pay $200 a night to stay on the beach? We spent our weekend checking out restaurants we have been curious about and not doing dishes. It was a great vacation for us. I just can't believe it has been 2 years already!

I do really wish we had taken pictures this weekend. I have been really into videotaping lately so I have got to figure out how to get my video clips up on this thing and then I can share parts of our weekend... and my steadily growing belly.

The freaky Widget

So I have held off long enough. I have been totally freaked out by these floating babies on everyone's blogs but... I do have to say it is fun too see how far along their babies are. Evidently, I have warmed up to them a bit because, as you can see, I broke down and got my own floating infant. So, if the small airborne child that is floating next to you is bothering you... you can either cover it up with your hand while you check out mine, and half the world's, it seems like, blogs OR suffer through looking at it for the next 34 days OR let me know and if I get enough "they freak me out too" s then I will happily remove it from my blog. If I have no opposition, and I if I can stand looking at it myself.... Let the count down begin.

California Girls Trip

So I am a little behind here on posting our girls trip to Newport Beach we planned to welcome our dearest Al home from her mission. We had a great time eating and shopping... don't ask me why we even wanted to get a house on the beach for this trip, considering the fact that the first morning we were there we went down to the beach for about 45 minutes and a couple of light weights got a little pink... needless to say we were content enough with shopping and eating... and searching for a blasted Internet connection so Kitty could email her Arabic husband. I loved this time with the girls and I have to say... we Will be doing this again.

I have a shortage of photos from the weekend... I hate being the last person to say "oh and can you take one with this camera too"... so I left it up to Kitty... and she pulled through. So for a few more shots from this weekend check out her blog caitandbrig@blogspot.com

The Move

So we just got the Internet set up here in our little beach side apartment... The update from the move... Some how we were lucky enough to have Kara and Sam fly out to Utah and drive across country with us. Mom, Kara and Austin, Kara's 20 month old baby, flew in with the Erika and her family and were in Utah for the week before we left. It was nice to have some help get things packed. Tuesday night Mom flew back to FLA with Austin and Sam flew in Wednesday Morning. We had everything packed and ready to go. We cruised out of Provo Thursday morning, John and me in the Penske pulling the car and Kara and Sam driving our truck behind us. We drove for 2 full days and stopped in Dallas to see the Jesse Hyde family for 2 days before we finished up the long drive with 2 more full days of driving. It was long journey but John is doing well at his new job and we are loving The Florida Life. I am just trying to keep myself busy before the baby comes in just 10 more weeks. I can't believe it is actually getting closer... when we first found out John was like "man it's like a year away." It practically was! My baby will be my mother's 29th grand baby and #30 (Kara's 2nd) is due in December, #31 (Tiffany's 4th) is due in January just days before #32 (Vanessa's 7th)... but don't worry... #33 isn't far behind (Erika's 5th) is due in February!!! The Munns women are out of control!

Austin enjoying his chocolate cake... I love that mouth.

We didn't take enough photos while we were moving... but here we have a few of the helpers.

Duce and Jett were so willing to carry things out to the truck to uncle John!

The faithful Penske... she treated us right. It was practically brand new with only 9,000 miles a CD player and Great AC!

The greatest traveling companions. It was so nice to have them along! Thanks Kara and Sam!

While we were on the road to Dallas Dad called and told us to get the best meal we have ever had as a treat from him... so we did a little research on the best Steak Houses in Dallas and found one that sounded amazing! Three Forks! We were in heaven. The atmosphere was perfest and the food was the best we had ever had. It was delicious! This is me and Kara at Three Forks waiting to be seated. We took a lot more photos but unfortunately they were taken after our trip to the bathroom where we thought it would be funny to get into all the free stuff they had there.. mouthwash, lotion, and our favorite ... hairspray! It was hilarious for us and not so much for the other women in the bathroom. I'll show you just one to give you an idea. We were pretty cool.

On our way through the South, after our trip to Dallas we stopped at a gas station in Louisiana and asked where some good cookin around town was. She refered us to a place a mile back along the river... " the best crawdad in town." It was really shaddy. In fact, Sam said he didnt even want to get out of the car. It was smack in the middle of the ghetto. There was even an older Suburban parked outside that had Louis Vuitton decals all over it. We went in anyway... it was well worth it.

Keep in mind that we have been driving for 4 days now... there is a reason I look so hammered.

John William Hyde

Doesn't he look like he is ready to be a Dad... Austin loves his uncle John!

We were at the pool for a few hours and I DID put sunscreen on him... it was just a little too late. My poor sweetest heart...

Hyde Update

A morning walk on the beach

For the past 4 weeks John has been finshing up with Firstline before moving to FLA. We were first in the Costa Mesa/ Newport area. I went home for 2 weeks to try to find us a place to live when we get to Florida... meanwhile John had traveled to a few other offices and was in San Bernardino when we were reunited... much different than Newport. We shacked up with our friends Jake and Kelise Dahl. We lasted one week there and headed back to Utah, stopping in Fallon for a few days on the lake. I am now more than half way through the pregnancy and it's been a good one. My baby is now about 13 inches and weighs about 1.5 lbs and I can feel that baby all day and night. On Tuesday we get to have our big utrasound and man it is going to be so hard to tell the doctor not to tell us what the sex of the baby is... but we are committed. We are now back in Utah until next Thursday when we hit the road to Florida. Yes, we are driving that nightmare drive. Here are just a few pics from the last couple of months.
